Dawn (Leidich) Hopke '96
Director of Development, Browne Academy
Dawn (Leidich) Hopke majored in art at Gettysburg College. In addition to working on the residence hall staff, she was involved in hall government, the Spectrum, Disciple Makers, and Bacchus.
A desire for a career in development and advancement of nonprofit organizations brought her to Washington, D.C. after graduation. She worked at the Smithsonian Institution, Langley School, and is now director of development of Browne Academy, an independent school in Alexandria, Virginia.
As a volunteer for Gettysburg College Hopke has served her graduating class on homecoming and reunion committees and as class agent. As vice-chair of the Committee for Young Alumni, she helped lay the foundation for "BOLD," Burgians of the Last Decade. Through her involvement with the Washington, D.C. alumni club and other Gettysburg College initiatives in the region, Dawn Leidich met Paul Hopke '87. Paul has served on the Alumni Board, and the campus was the setting for their engagement and wedding. The Hopkes make their home in Vienna, Virginia with daughter Grace and son Braden.
